Monday Night Rides
Monday night rides resume August 15th 6:30 pm at BHP. As below it's an unofficial ride. Ride at your own risk. It's a hard, fast ride for riders who are comfortable and have experience riding hard in a fast, tight group.

Time and date: Mon July 25 6:30pm – 8:30 pm.
Meet at Chickadee parking lot. Start at 6:30 pm in clockwise direction on the main loop. This is not a regular club ride so no insurance, ride at your own risk. Anyone is welcome, no need for club membership, race licence, MCA membership etc.
If you can’t make it by 6:30pm, don’t worry, the loop is only 11km, takes about 18 minutes to go around, just join in when the group comes around.
If you get dropped, just turn around and ride in the opposite direction. When the group comes around jump in again.

Good Friday Ride
Been talking to Tim T. about riding on Good Friday. Nothing definite just yet. Possible route to the west of city, Headingley and/or St. F-X. Post comments here or on my Facebook page if you are interested and for updates.

P.S. update. FOG memebers (and any other cyclists interested, since this is not a formal FOG ride), meet in Assinaboine Park by Duck Pond at noon Good Friday and ride out Roblin to Headingly then on past St Fancis Xavier and back.

Kenora Area Ride
I'm looking for some company on weekend rides thorough the summer in the Kenora area. Our cottage is on Branch Road #3 off Storm Bay Road approximately 7 miles east of Kenora.
My typical ride on a Saturday or Sunday morning is from the cottage to the intersection of Hwy 17 east and Storm Bay Road. From there it's east on Hwy 17 to 17a and then west on 17a ("the bypass") back towards Winnipeg. I'll re-join 17 east and head back into Kenora for a stop at the Safeway Starbucks for a coffee at the 56km mark. Then its back to the cottage for a total of 74km.
The 17a bypass, while a major highway has a wide an smooth shoulder and early in the morning the traffic if very light.
As long as it's not raining I'm heading out around 7:30am., anybody interested in hooking up on the route, or proposing an alternate, post a comment or email me at garry.c.stewart "at" gmail.com

May Long Weekend Rides
Should the weather cooperate there will be Saturday and Monday FOG rides. Starting from the usual start point (the Legion on Devries Rd.) and at the usual time, 9:00 a.m.

Sept. 26 Ride to Niverville
I'm looking for other FOG members to join me on Sept. 26 in Niverville. The Imagine half marathon will be on and they are looking for cyclists to help marshal the run (multiple distances). This is a charity event (http://www.imagineteam.ca/).
I'd like to get some members together to ride out to Niverville starting at St. Mary's and the Perimeter. We would ride out, help out by being race marshals (on bike), then ride back from Niverville. I know this coincides with a regular FOG ride but it's just the one Saturday for a good cause. I think it would be great to have a visible FOG presence at this growing event.
The run starts at 9:00 am so we would leave at 8:00am sharp (a bit earlier than normal for FOG rides).

Thursday Night Rides
Thursday night rides are on. A brisk ride south of the city. Varying routes, but the typical ride is to Ste. Agathe and back (about 60km). Usually a smaller group - 5 to 10 riders. Meet at the south west corner of St. Mary's Road and the Perimeter Highway. Ride leaves at 6:00 p.m. Parking is available. Be careful not to leave valuables out in sight.
